How we evaluated gaming keyboards
We have selected the most popular and affordable gaming keyboards and tested them ourselves. Here, we compared them and allocated scores depending on the criteria that we found most important and vital when choosing a high-quality gaming keyboard.
We asked the following questions to determine the score:
- How do they look aesthetically
- What size are they, and are they comfortable to use
- What sort of customization do they offer
- What type of keys do they have
- How much are they
- What about shipping costs

How do they look aesthetically?
Throughout the testing, our team looked at the overall aesthetics of these keyboards and their illumination elements, whether it’s easy to operate light modes.
What size are they, and are they comfortable to use?
Here, we analyzed whether these selected keyboards are full size or smaller. On top of that, we looked at whether these keyboards are relatively light or heavy. Also, we tested if it is comfortable enough to use these keyboards for a longer time.
What sort of customization do they offer?
During the test, we gave higher scores to those keyboards that maintained replaceable keys, a variety of light modes, and other ways of customization based on user preference.
What type of keys do they have?
Here, we examined what kind of keys these selected keyboards have, whether they are clicky, pushback, or quieter. Also, we looked at whether their keys contain some specific and unique functions. Keyboards with shortcuts were also rated higher.
How much are they?
We rated the overall value of the selected gaming keyboards if their quality and features were worth the price paid. We also gave higher scores for more affordable gaming keyboards, which matched their quality, and lower scores for the pricier ones.
What about shipping costs?
We looked if there were any shipping or other extra costs, and the more we had to pay extra, the lower the score, and vice versa. We also prioritized those gaming keyboards that offered free shipping.
